The town of Tullamore is involved in the international Entente Florale competition. Tullamore looked fantastic when visited by a group of dignatories from across Europe. Killeigh Comhaltas & friends played some music in O’Connor Square & later in the Tullamore Dew Visitor Centre.
Following the recent Leinster Fleadh, Killeigh Comhaltas will be will well represented at the All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil in Ennis. Our 15-18 Ceili Band came 3rd so won’t be going on to the All-Ireland but we are tremendously proud of them all & their performances. Huge congrats & best wishes to: Clare-Anne
Kearns (O18 Fiddle, O18 fiddle slow airs, O18 button accordion), Roisin O’Connor (U12 fiddle slow airs), Muireann Carton (15-18 Harp Slow Airs), U12 Longridge Ceili Band (& a special mention to Con who travelled from abroad specially to play), Ciaran O’hAolain (12-15 Songs in English). Well done to everyone who took part. Congrats to all the Offaly competitors in Ennis. To take part at that level of competition is a huge achievement.

March 13th saw the visit of Ormond CCÉ from Nenagh to Tullamore where we hosted a session, refreshments and then an evening bowling. There were nearly 65 musicians & perhaps 100 people altogether. New friendships were forged, tunes swapped and bowling really completed a super day.
Session for young people on Friday 12th Feb 7-9pm on Tullamore court hotel. Small people 7-8 with help from bigger people. Bigger people 8-9 with younger people watching and learning. This session will help to make up bands and groups for this years Fleadh season. Please make every effort to come along.
