About Killeigh Comhaltas

We are the Killeigh, Co. Offaly, Ireland branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann (CCÉ). Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann is the largest group involved in the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music. CCÉ a non-profit cultural movement with hundreds of local branches around the world, and we’ve been working for the cause of Irish music since the middle of the last century (1951 to be precise). We run Irish traditional music classes locally in Killeigh & Tullamore. Instruments include, whistle, flute, accordion, fiddle, concertina, etc. We also play music sessions which are suitable for all levels. You can find us on Facebook and on twitter as @killeighcce

Best of Luck…..

Best of luck to Roisin & Clare-Ann who will be representing Killeigh Comhaltas in Drogheda at Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2018. We’re very proud of you!

Christmas Party 2016

KILLEIGH COMHALTAS CHRISTMAS PARTY is on Sunday December 18th, 3-5pm in the Tullamore Court Hotel. Everyone is welcome, little musicians (young & old) of all ages & abilities. We will all play a few tunes together. It’s a great chance for our new members to see & meet our other branch members from the other classes and get an idea what our branch is about. And it’s great fun & all very relaxed! We also have some class musicians in our branch & we’ll get them to strut their stuff! Looking forward to see you all.

Everyone welcome as always!

Tullamore misses out on Fleadh 2018

Congratulations to Drogheda Comhaltas who today received the Leinster nomination to host the All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil in 2018. This means our bid to bring the Fleadh Cheoil back to Tullamore for 2018 was unsuccessful. A huge thank you to our Fleadh Committee who gave up their personal time & worked tirelessly. While we at Killeigh Comhaltas are disappointed, we put together an excellent bid and left no stone unturned. Best of luck to Drogheda as they progress to the next stage.

Killeigh Comhaltas/Comhaltas Cill Aichidh bid to bring Fleadh Cheoil 2018 back to Tullamore.
